graphic designer

For over 20 years, Inland Control & Services Inc. has offered dependable and user-friendly building control solutions for commercial, government, and retail buildings, as well as schools, universities, hospitals, airports and more. Our in-house graphic design team works with the client to provide modern and easy to use interfaces for clients to control, monitor and visualize their buildings systems, schedules, alarms and more. Inland prides itself on "Do it Right". We hold a high standard for top quality installations and a knowledgeable staff.

The graphics department is responsible for designing and implementing complete building automation graphics packages for our clients. These graphics include creating a 3D floorplan, building multiple equipment pages and compiling a main menu. Other duties include maintaining company social media presence, and updating the company website using Squarespace. The graphics department also takes care of miscellaneous jobs such as designing vehicle decals, advertisements, print design, editing and/or updating forms, etc.

Skills :

Ideal Training and Experience:

There is no official training required for this position, although an ideal candidate would have some combination of the training and/or experience listed below.

  • All applicants must pass a RCMP CPIC record check

  • Must be a permanent resident of Canada

  • Grade 12 diploma

  • Knowledge of the graphic design industry

  • Knowledge of the HVAC industry

Jr Application Engineer

Position Overview

Our Application Engineers work with project managers and field crew to develop architecture design and program digital control systems. There is no entry level training needed for this position, you will work with our experienced engineers to gain the knowledge and skills needed. Though a strong understanding of computers and software such as Microsoft Office products is required to thrive in this position. Core responsibilities

  1. Understanding and knowledge of building mechanical/electrical systems and equipment, Delta DDC controls systems software/architecture, typical DDC controls system devices

  2. Adherence to construction schedules and deadlines

  3. Effective and timely communication at the highest possible level

  4. Total customer satisfaction, internal and external

Regular duties 

  1. Designs building automation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of the based on project plans, specifications and contract documents.

  2. Creates, submits, and tracks RFIs, submittals, and changes to original project scope.

  3. Selects products and materials, sizes, types, and location placement to ensure products meet specification requirements.

  4. Requests equipment/materials quotes from 3rd party vendors, as well as orders and tracks all required products and materials for timely delivery on the job site.

  5. Responsible for sequences of operation which meet the project requirements.

  6. Coordinates and communicates with project manager.

  7. Coordinates work with installation tech and other trades as required.

  8. Coordinates with Graphic Designers in the creation of system graphics.

  9. Responsible for the coordination and execution of day to day activities on project site. This includes, but is not limited to, coordination of field resources, installation of control system components, management of subcontractors and vendors, start-up/point to point checkout, and project commissioning activities.

  10. Attends engineering handoff meeting with installation tech/subcontractor, ensuring installation tech/subcontractor has a complete understanding of project schedule, scope, installation requirements, and site specific safety requirements.

  11. Acts as a technical resource to existing customers and field employees as needed.
